A boundary survey establishes the corners and boundary lines of a specific parcel of land. A boundary survey can be used for a number of different purposes. LGS frequently performs boundary retracement surveys for homeowners who want to know where their property corners and borders are located. We also perform boundary surveys when a parcel of land is subdivided into smaller tracts.
A boundary retracement survey involves researching public and private records of the property in order to come to a proper description. We plot the deed of the property and its adjoining properties and evaluate any previous surveys performed for the specific parcel of land. Then, we go to the site to find and locate existing property markers. We evaluate this information in order to resolve and mark the property corners.
